Five situations I've encounter that affect my gender sensitivity are:

1. Double burden in the family. Girls are considered responsible for completing many things, from the kitchen to cleaning the whole house. Meanwhile, boys are given fewer responsibilities.
2. Education. This is a cultural heritage of the past that we can still find, boys are given the freedom to go to college and pursue a career. Meanwhile, girls are not prosecuted or even allowed to go to high school and then start a career because they have to take care of domestic household affairs.
3. Widows and widowers. Widows are often stigmatized in society because they are women. Meanwhile, the widower, who also failed in marriage, did not get any bad marks from society because he is a man.
4. Marginalization. In terms of work, women tend to be given lower salaries or rewards than men with the same workload demands. This is a common gender issue that we able to see everywhere.
5. Stereotype. The male is the head of the family and his main job is to work for a living. Therefore, men must be strong, cannot cry, cannot complain and must always be reliable.

Pembahasan

Soal di atas menghendaki penjawab untuk menuliskan lima situasi yang pernah ditemui/dihadapi yang berkaitan dengan persoalan gender. Situasi di atas tidak selalu harus dialami sendiri sebab bisa berupa pengamalan orang lain namun mudah kita saksikan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.
