Pembahasan
The questions above discussed about degree of comparisons; positive degree, comparison degree, and superlative degree. We can use positive degree in order to express something that is equal or notby usingas...as/not as...as. Comparative is used when we want to compare two thingsby addingsuffix -er and/or intensifier more then followed by preposition than. Sometimes, we can use far/a lot/much...than so it sounded stronger, and use less...than to show that one thing is less than the other. While superlative uses article the, suffix -est and/or intensifier mostin order to showthe best quality of all things. Suffix -er and -est are used when the adjectives have one syllable (eg: faster/fastest). If the word ending with vowel "e" then it followed by suffix -r and -st (eg: nicer/nicest); while the word ending with consonant "y" must be changed by vowel "i" and followed by -er and -est (eg: happier/happiest). Intensifiers more and most are used in most adjectives with two syllables and all adjectives that have three or more syllables (eg: more expensive/most expensive). However, there are several two syllables adjectives that can use either suffixes or intensifiers (eg: handsomer/more handsome). In comparative and superlative degree, the are several irregular adjectives:
- Good - Better - Best
- Bad - Worse -Worst
- Much - More - Most
- Far - Farther/Further - Farthest/Furthest
- Little - Less - Least
