But few days ago my aunt brought me some batik kits because she just got back from Solo. Then my mom asked me to make batik. We had unused plain fabrics. After that, my mom taught me how to make batik. It was the simple one so I learned quickly. This is my first batik and I think it’s quite nice.

Heri: Toni, let’s go to the circus tomorrow. I think it is fun.

Toni: No, I don’t want to. I don’t go to a circus since I was 4 years old.

Heri: Why? I think it is cool.

Toni: Yeah, but not until I saw someone dress up as a clown.

Heri: Tell me about it.

Toni: It was a summer time when my parents asked me and my brother to go the circus. It was fun in the beginning. I saw from the far in the stands so I couldn’t see clearly how the clowns looked like. But then when we were going to go home, some people who dressed up as clowns passed in front of me and dropped several properties they brought. When I saw it, I immediately helped them to pick up the things. After that, they turned to me to say thanks, but they were so close and their makeup was so scary. I ran to my dad and cried. Since then, I never go to the circus anymore.

Toni: Hahaha. I think clowns are funny but you find them scary. It’s okay. I’ll ask the others to accompany me.

Dialog 3

Aldi: Hi, guys. Have you ever gone to Jogja? I want to go there next month.

Vino: I haven’t. I heard there are many good places to visit in Jogja.

Roni: Yes, I have. I went there last semester. It was so fun.

Aldi: Really? Tell me about it, Roni.

Vino: Yeah. I want to hear it, too.

Roni: Okay. I went there because my brother asked me. My uncle was asked to accompany us, so our parents didn’t worry. We got there by train. We left in the morning and arrived in the afternoon. We took a rest for a while in the hotel. Then we decided to go to Malioboro in the evening and there were many delicious local food. It was crowded but the atmosphere was pleasant.

Aldi: Yeah, I heard Malioboro is crowded at night.

Roni: That’s right. The next day, we went to Keraton. We learned a lot about Jogja’s culture there. Then we went to Taman Sari. It was pretty and we took many pictures. We had to go home in the evening because my uncle worked the next day. The time was short but we were happy.

Vino: I want to go there, too.

Roni: Yeah, you should. You might try to go to the beaches because there are lots of beautiful beaches in Jogja.
