We know that:

We can substitute (1) and (3) into this equation

(11/6) * (0.32x - 96) = 0.32x

multiply both sides by 6/11

0.32x - 96 = 0.32x * (6/11)

0.32x - 96 = 0.18x

0.14x = 96

So there are 688 cakes in total in the shop.
