Geography BATTLE OF BERLIN
WITH ENGLISH SPEAK !!!

16 April - 2 May 1945

Jawaban dan Penjelasan

Berikut ini adalah pilihan jawaban terbaik dari pertanyaan diatas.

Jawaban:

The Battle of Berlin was one of the last battles of the World War II European Theater. A large Soviet army under Georgy Zhukov and Ivan Konev attacked Berlin from the east. This battle lasted from late April 1945 to early May. Before the battle ended, Adolf Hitler had committed suicide, and Germany surrendered after five days of fighting had ended. The German surrender was signed by Marshal Wilhelm Keitel. Furthermore, Berlin was divided into two, namely East Berlin which belonged to the Soviets and West Berlin which belonged to America, England and France. The city of Berlin was badly damaged although several buildings such as the Brandenburg Gate and the Reichstag Building still survive. After Keitel signed the instrument of surrender, the Nuremberg Trials continued.

The Soviet attack on what became known as East Germany (DDR, Deutsche Demokratische Republik) served two purposes. Due to Stalin's suspicion of the Western Allies' aim of taking over territory that had not been trodden by the Soviets, this attack continued to advance and attempted to rush westward in order to stop the Western Allies from moving east. Both have similar thoughts because control of the area cannot be done immediately unless Berlin has been taken over by one of the blocks. Another consideration is that Berlin itself has many strategic assets, for example Hitler himself and the German atomic bomb development program.
