Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus globulus) is a tall evergreen tree native to Australia and Tasmania. Today, most commercial herbal preparations originate in Mediterranean and subtropical regions, including Spain and Marocco. The leaves and oil of the eucalyptus plant are used for medicinal purposes. Eucalyptus leaves contain tannins (which are believed to help reduce inflammation), flavonoids, and volatile oils. Eucalyptus oil consosts of the volatile oil distilled from the fresh leaves and branch tops of the eucalyptus tree.

There are many species of eucalyptus. Some are the size of an ornamental shrub, and some grow to be giants trees. The type of eucalyptus that is most often used medicinally is called blue gum or Australian fever tree. It can grow as high as 230 feet. Its 4-12 inch leaves are dark green and shiny.

Topical ointments containing eucalyptus oil have been used in traditional Aboriginal medicines to heal wounds and fungal infections. Teas containing eucalyptus leaves were also used to reduce fevers. The therapeutic uses of eucalyptus soon spread to other traditional medicine systems. Including Chinese, Indian, and Greco European.

My school held a cultural day last week. We were asked to promote any culture from Indonesia and the world. Then I decided to wear yukata, a Japanese traditional outfit.

On that day, I woke up early to prepare my yukata. At six, I took out my yukata from my closet and browsed the Internet for the tutorial on how to put on yukata. I followed the instructions step by step. It was easy at first. But things became hard when I had to wear the belts. There were three kinds of belts that I had to wear, and they should be set on each other. I failed to put them on several times. I got annoyed and stressed since I had to go to school at seven! Later I tried my best to finish it quickly and went to school.

After I arrived at school, many of my friends praised me. They said I looked unique and pretty in yukata. I was so happy until I felt something tickling my foot. It was one of the belts! It came loose and fell at my feet. I felt very embarrassed because many people were looking at me. Because of that, I almost slipped over it. Fortunately, one of my teachers saw the incident. She took me to the teacher's office and helped me to fix it. She put on some pins to secure the belts.
