If the word ending with vowel "e" then it followed by suffix -r and -st (eg: nicer/nicest); while the word ending with consonant "y" must be changed by vowel "i" and followed by -er and -est (eg: happier/happiest). Intensifiers more and most are used in most adjectives with two syllables and all adjectives that have three or more syllables (eg: more expensive/most expensive). However, there are several two syllables adjectives that can use either suffixes or intensifiers (eg: handsomer/more handsome). In comparative and superlative degree, the are several irregular adjectives:
