1. Orientation: Joy Tobing was only fifteen when she won the prize to go Japan for a Karaoke Competition. Her parents didn’t allow her at first, but they permitted her after they read the program that the committee sent her.
2. Events: Once in Japan, the committee took Joy to a hotel lobby and they told her that someone was going to pick her up and take her to another hotel where she would stay. She waited in the lobby for two hours but the person never showed up. Joy went to the bathroom and cried. Joy talked to the receptionist and asked her where her hotel was and what her contact person’s name was, but she couldn’t help Joy.
3. Re-orientation: Finally Joy went out of the hotel, and there he was! The man who picked her up had been waiting for her outside the hotel for an hour.
