Red was not intimidated. "I know you're a wolf," she said. "But that doesn't mean you have to be mean and scary. Why don't you come with me to visit my grandmother? Maybe you can be friends."

The wolf was surprised by Red's kindness. He had never been shown kindness before, and he didn't know how to react. "I don't know if I can be friends with a little girl," he said. "But I'll come with you to see your grandmother."

As they walked together, Red and the wolf talked and laughed. They found out that they had a lot in common, and the wolf realized that he didn't have to be feared and hated all the time.

When they arrived at Red's grandmother's house, the wolf knocked on the door. "Who's there?" asked the grandmother.

"It's Red and a friend," replied Red.

The grandmother opened the door and was surprised to see a wolf standing there. But Red explained everything, and the grandmother was happy to see that Red had made a new friend.

The wolf and Red sat down to have some cake and tea with the grandmother. They talked and laughed some more, and the wolf realized that he had never felt so happy and accepted in his life.

As the day turned to evening, the wolf knew it was time to go. "Thank you for inviting me, Red," he said. "I never knew that I could be friends with a little girl. I hope we can meet again sometime."

Red smiled. "Of course, we can," she said. "You're my friend now."

As the wolf disappeared into the forest, Red and her grandmother hugged each other. "I'm so glad you made a new friend," said the grandmother.

Red grinned. "Me too," she said. "And I think he's not so bad after all."
