Pembahasan

Passive voice adalah bentuk kalimat yang subjek gramatikal, yaitu orang atau benda yang mengalami akibat dari suatu tindakan atau dikenai sebuah tindakan. Subjek di dalam passive voice merupakan objek yang dikenai tindakan oleh subjek yang menjadi objek kalimat tersebut.

Perhatikan beberapa contoh berikut!

Contoh passive voice:

  • A book is read by Fajar in library. (Sebuah buku dibaca oleh Fajar di perpustakaan)

Contoh active voice:

  • Fajar read a book in library. (Fajar membaca sebuah buku di perpustakaan)

Tenses-tenses yang digunakan dalam passive voiceyaitupresent tensesdanpast tenses.

1. Simple Present

➡️ Rumus-rumusnya:

Positive (+): Subject + To be (is/am/are) + Verb 3 + Object

Negative (-): Subject + To be (is/am/are) + not + Verb 3 + Object

2. Simple Past

Positive (+): Subject + Was/Were + Verb 3 + Object
