Your son stole my purse!Rosa rang her friend Cindy and invited her to dinner on Saturday night.
Cindy accepted. She told Rosa she would have to bring her son, Micky.
Micky was twelve and still a bit too young to be left on his own. Rosa said
that was no problem; Micky was a good boy.
On Saturday night, Cindy and Micky arrived at 7 o'clock, as agreed. Micky
went straight up to the bedroom and played on his MP3 player. Rosa served
a lovely meal, that great British classic, spaghetti Bolognese, washed down
with a bottle of red wine. Micky cte his meal upstairs. The two friends
gossiped and had a wonderful night. Cindy and Micky left by taxi at about
eleven o'clock.
The next morning, Rosa went to get her purse. It was on the sideboard in the sitting room, at the back of the
house. She wanted a couple of pounds to go and buy the Sunday newspapers. But her purse wasn't there! She
went out of the room and then back in again, to look again, in case she had missed the purse. But it was gone.
Then, she looked everywhere, including the garden shed. The purse was gone. 'No!' she thought, 'No! as a
Terrible thought occurred to her. Had Micky taken the purse? Maybe he just couldn't resist? Two days later,
Rosa rang Cindy. She told her about the missing purse, and then, she asked Cindy if Cindy would gently ask
Micky about it. Cindy was furious! Rosa was accusing Micky! How could she think that? She shouted at Rosa
and then she hung up. Rosa felt terrible and Cindy felt angry.
The very next day, there was a knock on Rosa's door. It was a young boy. He handed Rosa her purse. It still
had all her money in. The young boy told her what happened. He walked past her house on Saturday night. He
saw her purse on the sideboard in the back room. The patio door was open. He sneaked in and took the purs
However, he felt so guilty about it that now he was bringing it back. He started crying. Cindy felt pleased,
but a bit upset, too. She sent the boy away and told him to forget it. She rang Cindy immediately and
explained what had happened. 'I'm pleased you got your purse back, Cindy said flatly and then she put the
phone down
