Last week, my sister and  i went to Yogyakarta for a routine visiting. My grandmother has stayed in Yogyakarta for many years, hence we visit her twice a month. We went there by using a car. We had decided  the journey before the weekend came. { ORIENTATION PART - STORY PLOT }

After we arrived in my grandmother's house, we spoke to each other while enjoying the served food. We asked the permission to my grandmother to join with us for sightseeing. Finally, my grandmother was agreed to our offering. For the first place, we visited the lord palace "Keraton Jogja". We could see many unique ornaments as the masterpiece of cultural Javanese heritage. My grandmother said that place kept the heritage of the palace relatives. We were there for only thirty minutes, then we decided to go home. { SEQUENCES OF EVENT }

In the following day, my grandmother and us went to Gembira loka zoo. Gembira loka zoo is the only great zoo in Yogyakarta. We could see variety of animals. We took pictures of tigers, giraffes and crocodiles. After we were satisfied in seeing animals, we went to the restaurant for lunch. We ordered the special menu of Yogyakarta depiction, Gudeg Jogja. Its taste was unique, sweet and chicken flavor. We loved it. { SEQUENCES OF EVENT }

Then, the closing trip, we went to Malioboro streets to buy souvenirs such as , batik clothes, beads bracelets and some t-shirts. We bought the local handmade  woven bag for my grandmother. We could find everything over Malioboro streets. The vendors offered variety of goods friendly to those who passed through over Malioboro streets. We  took my grandmother home before our leaving. We asked permission to my grandmother to go home. { SEQUENCES OF EVENT }

That was our relative visiting. Even though we were exhausted to explore the places in Yogyakarta, we were satisfied by its uniqueness. Yogyakarta is the exotic place where still keeps the Javanese culture. { RE-ORIENTATION - THE WRITER'S CONCLUSION }

GENERIC STRUCTURE  

1. Orientation

• Paragraf awal sebagai perkenalan terkait dengan orang-orang yang terlibat, waktu dan lokasi yang ditentukan dalam cerita-nya.

2. Sequenced Events

• Paragraf selanjutnya menjabarkan runtutan-runtutan kejadiannya seperti apa.

3. Re -orientation

• Paragraf terakhir sebagai closing (penutup) yang menjabarkan kesimpulan akhir dari cerita yang dijabarkan. Pada umumnya berisi ungkapan si penulis.

LANGUAGE FEATURES ( UNSUR KEBAHASAAN )

• Penggunaan  tenses lampau ( Past Tense )  pada strukur kalimat nya.

• Penggunaan  kata kerja aksi  ( action verb )lampau, seperti : went, bought, paid...etc

• Penggunaan keterangan penghubung untuk merinci kejadian secara runtut, seperti : after ......, then......
• Dominasi  pada specific participants
