Penjelasan

Past Continuous Tense atau Past Progressive Tense adalah tense yang digunakan untuk kalimat yang menyatakan kejadian tersebut sedang berlangsung tapi di masa yang lampau.

Formula kalimat Past Progressive Tense:

(+) Subject + was/were + verb 1 +ng

(?) was/were + subject + verb 1 + -ing

Kata keterangan waktu:

at this time yesterday, at the moment last week, this time last night, etc.

Contoh kalimat:

(+) He was reading the novel at this moment two days ago. (Dia sedang membaca novel pada waktu sekarang ini dua hari yang lalu.)

(-) He was not reading the novel at this moment two days ago. (Dia tidak sedang membaca novel pada waktu sekarang ini dua hari yang lalu.)

(?) Was he reading the novel at this moment two days ago? (Apakah dia sedang membaca novel pada waktu sekarang ini dua hari yang lalu?)
