Ok.... For today you will learn about Genre. It's a Recount Text.
1. Social Function of Recount Text is to retell the past event.
2. Generic Structure:
@ Orientation: Introducing participant( who, what, when where, why, why)
@Series of events: it tells about activity did in the past
@Reorientation: it tells about conclusion or summary of you did.
3. Lexicogrammatical Feature: Use Simple Past Tense( v2)
You may see modul page 65 about My Best Friend or you may see the example below
Last year, I wanted to dance party at Lindan's house. In the middle of the party, I saw a guy that Zi had a crush on. To get his attention, I went to the stage and started to dance with my friends. I was so busy dabbing that I didn't pay attention to anything else. I didn't realize that I got to close to the rim of the stage. Suddenly I tripped and fell of the stage. The music stopped for a while and everyone laughed including the guy that I had a crush on. I felt so stupid.
It was a dance party that U would never forget.

Explanation:
Orientation: Last year, I wanted to dance party at Lindan's house.
Series of events: In the middle of the party, I saw a guy that I had a crush on -------I felt so stupid
Reorientation: It was a dance party that I would never forget.
Simple Past Tense: wanted, saw, had, went, started, was, didn't pay, didn't realize, got, tripped, l aughed, had, felt, was, would
