If You Have a Flat TireIf you have a flat tire, make sure you are completely off the road, away from traffic. Stop your engine and turn on the emergency lights. Put on the parking brake firmly. Then get everyone out of the car on the side, away from traffic Now, follow these instructions:
1. Get the toll (jack, crowbar, and lug wrench) and the spare tire out of the trunk.
2. Block the wheel opposite the flat tire to keep the car from rolling when it is jacked up.
3. Remove the hubcap with crowbar.
4. Loosen all the lug nuts with the lug wrench.
5. Place the jack under the car in the correct position.
6. Raise the car just high enough to put on the correct spare tire.
7. Remove the lug nuts and take off the punctured tire. Put on the new tire.
8. Put the lug nuts back on and tighten them by hand.
9. Lower the car completely and take away the jack. Tighten the lug nuts with the lug wrench.
10. Put the hubcap back on.
