Dia bukan murid yang pintar bukan? He is not a smart student, is he?

Dengan begitu kita akan tahu bahwa question tag akan akan berupa bentuk negatif dari kalimat utama.

Jadi jika kalimatnya positive, question tagnya dibuat negatif, dan sebaliknya.

Untuk membuat sebuah question tag perhatikan:

- Tense, karena itu mempengaruhi pilihan apakah pakai do/does/did/is/am/are/have/has sesuai tense

Contoh:

He is a doctor, isn't he? (present tense, kalimat tanpa verb)

They were at the theater, weren't they? (past tense, kalimat tanpa verb)

He likes footbal, doesn't he? (present tense, kalimat dengan verb)

He did not want children, did he? (past tense, kalimat dengan verb)

- pronoun atau subjeknya apakah (I, you, he they dst), karena juga akan do/does/did/is/am/are/have/has  sesuai subjeknya

My father is a dentist, isn't he? (My father adalah he, person ketiga tunggal)

My children are still young, aren't they (My children adalah they, person ketiga jamak)

His two hats aren't new, are they? (his two hats/dua topinya adalah they)

You aren't from here, are you? (You adalah person kedua tunggal)
