The simple past adalah bentuk kata kerja yang digunakan untuk berbicara tentang hal-hal yang terjadi atau ada di masa lampau. Simple past form ditandai dengan adanya perubahan pada ejaan kata, yaitu adalah penambahan -ed/-d pada regular verb (contoh kalimat 1 dan 13) atau perubahan menyeluruh pada irregular verb (contoh kalimat 4 dan 10).
