Jack has his own one-room apartment. From Monday to Friday he gets up at 6:30 am. He does not make his bed then. He does some setting-up exercises. Next, he goes into the kitchen and make coffee. Then, he makes the rest of his breakfast. He seldom does pancakes. He always makes toast. After breakfast he makes his bed and dressed for work.

Jack then has well over an hour to part of his homework. First he does his calculus. Then he does a beginning on his English assignment. He does not through with this second assignment, however. Jack goes to the subway by 8:20 am. He makes his way through the crowed and goes into the last car of his train. Then he does nothing but hold onto a strap. In the office, Jack gets busy and proceeds to make a good day's work. Late in the afternoon, he makes a detailed report to the head of his office on the day's sales. He does this work rapidly but accurately. He makes a few mistakes. He seldom makes the same mistake twice. Jack gets away from the office a little after 5:00 pm. He gets home well before 6:00 pm. He gets to his first class by 7:10 am.
