Mixed conditionaladalah kalimat pengandaian di manatenseinduk kalimatnyaberbedadengantense yang digunakan di anak kalimat (if-clause) karena kedua situasi tersebut terjadi di waktu yang berbeda.

Mixed conditionalhanya digunakan untukunreal situation (type 2 dan 3).

Jika fakta dari main clausedalampresent, conditionalnya menggunakan past (would). Dan jika fakta if clausedalampast, conditionalnya menggunakan past perfect.

Contoh:

Fakta → I amnot late because the cardidn't break down.

Conditional → I would belate if the carhad broken down.

Jika fakta dalam pastdanpresent, kalimat conditionalnya menggunakan would havedanpast.

Contoh:

Fakta → He is shyso hedidn't call.

Conditional → If he weren't shy, he would have called.
