Past simple tense adalah salah satu dari banyak tenses yang digunakan untuk menjelaskan kejadian atau peristiwa yang terjadi di masa lampau.

Formula Past Simple Tense (Verbal):

(+) Subject + Verb 2 (Past Tense) + Object/Compliment

(-) Subject + did + not + Verb 1 (Present Tense) + Object/Compliment

(?) Did + subject + Verb 1 (Present Tense) + Object/Compliment

*Note: Ingat untuk negatif dan interogatif harus diikuti dengan Verb 1.
