Dear Ms. Dixon,
i am writing to complain regarding the defect in Airpod Music Player purchased on 11 January 2021 from your online store.
The music player worked properly for one month but it has not been functioning properly for the past three day. The sound breaks whilst the songs are being played and the system hangs multiple times. Moreover, the songs stop playing abruptly and require the system to be restarted. Since the music player is still in the warranty period of one year, I wish to get it replaced.
I have enclosed a copy of the proof of purcase for you’re reference. I look forward your response. Thank you very much.

Pembahasan

Di dalam teks formal letter di atas ada beberapa kesalahan tulisan (type error) yang bisa kita lihat dan perbaiki, terutama 3 kesalahan di atas, yaitu:

1. Bentuk tanggal seharusnya mengikuti format yang ada di dalam bahasa Inggris yaitu: February 11th, 2021. Bentuk ini diawali dengan nama bulan dalam hal ini February, lalu diikuti tanggal diakhiri dengan "th" untuk angka selain 1, 2, 3, lalu diakhiri dengan tahun.

2. Kalimat "for the past three day" seharusnya diberi kata day dalam bentuk plural (jamak) lebih dari satu dengan cara menambahkan huruf s di belakangnya menjadi "days".

3. Frasa "proof of purcase" terdapat kesalahan pada kata "purcase" seharusnya adalah "purchase" artinya "pembelian".

4. Frasa "for you’re reference" salah, seharusnya adalah "for your reference" karena your menunjukkan kepemilikan.
