But back to the questions, There could be a few unlisted moral values here. please note that this is based on my perspective and others may have seen it differently
1. Don't judge anyone too quickly
Ever heard the famous saying of " don't judge a book by its cover " ? . This is exactly it. It is said that his neighbor thinks that he is crazy because he is unmarried when it is obviously not the case. They shouldn't have done this but it might also be because of culture and society which causes the neighbors to assume that there's something wrong with him.
2. Loyalty
isnt it obvious? hearing this makes me capture the warmth of it haha , The sorrow and warmth it is there. I guess it is true that love is absolute loyalty as the saying goes " people fades, looks fades, but loyalty never fades "
Here we could see how loyal Takahama is. His decision to not marry anyone else despite being seen as someone who is "crazy" because that his unwilling to marry someone is what truly shows it. We could see his love and loyalty to Akiko . ( how cute ╥﹏╥ )
It is also said that Takahama still visits Akiko's grave even after years and years that have came by and how Akiko came as a form of a butterfly when he was dying. You could see that Akiko has always been with him in the end. They were always together. Always
In conclusion you could say that this are the moral values, remember dont judge anyone or assume anyone's life because they might have their own reasons.

Only to your patner? Obviously no. To your friends? To people you care. Just like how loyal a dog is to its owner.
There are people who leaves others in pain, betray them and even dump them. Is it any good? I don't think so. It hurts. as a victim of one it hurts, it really does and why? whats the purpose of it? So please do keep in mind that try to not hurt others when it is really unnecessary to.
