• Indirect: I said that you had drunk milk too much.

⑵ Simple present modal ➠ Simple past modal

ㅤㅤRumus:

• Direct: S + can + V1 + O/C.
• Indirect: S + could + V1 + O/C.

ㅤㅤContoh:

• Direct: I said “He can drink milk too much”.
• Indirect: I said that he could drink milk too much.

⑶ Simple past continuous ➠ Simple past perfect continuous

ㅤㅤRumus:

• Direct: S + was/were + V-ing + O/C.
• Indirect: S + had + been + V-ing + O/C.

ㅤㅤContoh:

• Direct: He told me “He was going to his grandmother’s house”.
• Indirect: He told me that he had been going to his grandmother’s house.

⑷ Simple present modal ➠ Simple past modal

• Direct: S + may + V1 + O/C.
• Indirect: S + might + V1 + O/C.

• Direct: I said “He may drink milk too much”.
• Indirect: I said that he might drink milk too much.

• Indirect: S + V2 + O/C.
