Elephants are the current holder of the title 'largest living land animal'. It is known for its elongated nose also known as the trunk, huge head, and wide floppy ears. Elephants are greyish to brown in colour. They are often found in savannas, grasslands, and forests but some of them also live in deserts and swamps. They are among the plant-eating animals also called herbivores. Elephants use the trunks like a hand in some ways, for example, they can hold stick and branches to scratch in areas that their trunk and tail can't reach and they eat by detaching grasses, leaves, and fruits with the end of their trunk and using it to place the food into the mouth.
