RELATIVE PRONOUN

1) Who

• Difungsikan sebagai subject pronoun dengan klasifikasi orang (people)

Contoh:

Eistein was a scientist who changed the way we think.

2) Which

• Difungsikan sebagai subject pronoun dan object pronoun dengan klasifikasi kata benda (innanimate beings) dan hewan (animal)

Contoh:

In 800 Alessandro Volta built a machine which was the first battery.

3) Whom

• Difungsikan sebagai object pronoun dengan klasifikasi orang (human)

Contoh:

The old man whom we met yesterday is Mr. Pingpong.

4) Whose

• Difungsikan sebagai possessive determiner (her, their, his, your). Penerapan "whose" selalu direkatkan dengan obyek.

Contoh:

I know many people whose dream is to travel to outer space.

RELATIVE ADVERB

5) Where 

• Difungsikan sebagai penjabaran tempat/lokasi (place/location/city)

Contoh:

~ The Hubble Telescope in space can see places where no one has ever been.

~ Silicon Valley is a place where many successfull technology companies like Apple and Microsoft one based.

6) When

• Difungsikan sebagai penjabaran spesifikasi waktu, seperti : on that day, on that year.

Contoh:

~ This is the year when the last past of the Hunger Games will realease.

~ The film starts on Tuesday August 7th 1974, the day when Petit finally achieved his goal.

Note!

Baik relative pronoun maupun relative adverb selalu terletak berdampingan dengan obyek yang dijabarkan.
