• Social media is an online medium where users can easily participate, share, and build content on blogs, social networks, and virtual worlds. Blogs and social networks are the most widely used forms of social media by citizens worldwide. Social media uses the various features provided, of course, it has a positive influence on its users. On the other hand, social media can also cause negative effects if not used wisely, especially for children and teenagers. In this case, parents and teachers really need to pay attention to monitor children and adolescents based on the negative influence of social media. Worst of all, we have to restrict them from using social media.
• There are so many negative effects of social media for children & teenagers. First, children and teenagers are lazy to communicate in the real world. Their understanding of language is impaired. If a child communicates too much in cybrspace, then their knowledge of communicating more clearly in real life, such as body language and tone of voice, will decrease.

• Second, social networking sites will make children & teenagers more self-centered. They are not aware of the environment around them, because most of their time is spent on the internet. This can result in children being less empathetic to the real world.

• Third, for children and teenagers, there is no spelling budget & tidy up language on social networks. This will make it even more difficult for them to differentiate between communicating on a real global & social networking site. This will obviously affect their writing & speaking skills at school.

• Finally, credit cards are the most widely used method on the global internet. Cyber criminals often do in this area. With an open system, criminals can detect online transactions (using credit cards) and record the card code used. Then, they use the data they get for their crminal endeavors.

• In conclusion, social media has many negative effects on children & adolescents. They should be limited to using social media because of the many negative effects. It's not good for them because they can't decide which is good or bad.
