RELATIVE PRONOUNS

Merupakan bentuk prononun (kata ganti) yang dikaitkan dengan bentuk adjective clause dan noun.

Selain fungsinya menggunakan adjective clause, relative pronoun juga bisa memiliki fungsi object, possesive maupun subject.

Jenis relative pronoun menjadi 5 macam, yakni :

1. Who pastinya ditujukan untuk menggantikan bentuk kata ganti pada orang (subejct/pronoun).

Pola : S + who + predicate.

2. Whose merupakan bentuk pronoun yang menggunakan penggunaan kepemilikan pada orang jamak atau kepemilikan benda, juga berperan sebagai pengganti determiner, possesive, dan adjective.

Pola : S + whose + noun (bentuk kepemilikan).

3. Whom merupakan bentuk kejelasan dari verb pada object.

Pola : S/O + whom + S + P.

4. Which adalah penggunaan yang menggunakan dan menggantikan peran kata benda yang mati dan binatang (subject dan object).

Pola whom untuk menggantikan object :S (benda/hewan) + which + ....
Jika, untuk menggantikan subject maka :S (benda/hewan + which + S + P.

5. That memiliki fungsi yang sama dengan jenis-jenis relative pronoun lainnya, bahkan untuk rumusnya pun juga mirip. Bisa digunakan untuk menggantikan subject, object, noun (kata benda), atau hewan.

RELATIVE ADVERB

Merupakan bentuk kegunaan sebagai peran kata keterangan untuk menjelaskan lebih dulu sebelum nantinya adjective clause yang umumnya menjelaskan kata benda.

Relative adverb memiliki 2 jenis, yakni :

1. Where yang artinya adalah dimana, umumnya menunjukkan tentang dimana suatu tempat, arah, atau lokasi.

2. When yang artinya adalah kemudian/setelah itu, pastinya menunjukkan latar waktu seperti day, month, year, week, etc.
