cormorants never go far out to sea for they have short wings and do not fly very well.however,they are excellent divers,as soon as a cormorant sees a fish darting about in the wave, it plunges into the sea and reappears later with a fish wriggling about in its long, hook-tipped beak.
cormorants can stay under a part of their neck breathing for more than two minutes,gobbling up small fish, which they store inside a part of their neck known as the gullet.when their gullets are full of fish,the cormorants go back to their nets on the rocks where they bring up the fish they have swallowed and feed them to their young.
