FatmawatiFatimah or known as Fatmawati is the third wife of the first president of Indonesia,
Soekarno. She was born in Bengkulu, February 5", 1923. She became the first nation
mother from 1945-1967. She became famous because of her sewing for Indonesia's flag
She was
the first person who sewed the flag of Indonesia which is now always be fluttered
in every Monday and also in Independence Day.
Fatmawati is the daughter of Hasan Din and Siti Chadijah. Her parent is a generation of
Putri Indrapura. Putri Indrapura is a king of family from Indrapura Kingdom in Pesisir Selatan,
West Sumatra. Her father is a business man and a figure of Muhammadiyah in Bengkulu.
On June 1", 1943, Fatmawati married to Soekarno. Their marriage got three daughters
and two sons they are, Guntur Soekarnoputra, Megawati Soekarnoputri, Rachmawati
Soekarnoputri, Sukmawati Soekarnoputri
, and Guruh Soekarnoputra. Fatmawati died on
May 14th, 1980 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She was gone in 57 years old.
