1. General Statement

The linguistic structure of the first explanation text is the general statement in the first paragraph.  While the function of this general statement is to provide a general explanation regarding an event or phenomenon that will be discussed in the text.

The contents of this general statement can be in the form of an understanding of the phenomenon or event as well as several sentences containing general explanations related to the phenomenon or event.

2. Sequenced of Explanation

Sequenced of explanation is the next part of explanation text and is located in the next paragraph after the general statement paragraph.  While the function of the second part or sequenced explanation is to provide an explanation of why and how a phenomenon occurs.  The explanation is in the form of the processes of the formation of these events which are written sequentially.  This sequenced part of explanation usually answers the questions "How" and "Why" and can be written in more than one paragraph.

Well, in this generic structure of explanation text there is no “closing” section.  Many people think that the last paragraph in an explanation text is the closing part.  But what is true is that the last part of the explanation text is the final process of the occurrence or formation of an event or a phenomenon.
