1. Simple Present Tense

Digunakan untuk menunjukkan fakta, kebiasaan, dan keadaan umum yang terjadi pada saat ini.

Rumus:

Positive (+) : S + V1 (s/es) + O

Negative (-) : S + don't/doesn't + V1 + O

Interrogative (?) : Do/Does + S + V1 + O + ?

Contoh:

1. (+) I go to school.

  (-) I don't go to school.

  (?) Do I go to school?

2. (+) He plays football in the backyard.

   (-) He doesn't play football in the backyard.

   (?) Does he play football in the backyard?

2. Present Continuous Tense

Digunakan untuk membicarakan aksi yang sedang berlangsung.

Rumus:

Positive (+) : S + to be (am, is, are) + V-ing + O

Negative (-) : S + to be (am, is, are) + not + V-ing + O

Interrogative (?) : To be (am, is, are) + S + V-ing + O + ?

Contoh:

1. (+) I am going to school.

  (-) I am not going to school.

  (?) Am I going to school?

2. (+) He is playing football in the backyard.

   (-) He is not playing football in the backyard.

   (?) Is he playing football in the backyard?

3. Present Perfect Tense

Digunakan untuk menunjukkan suatu aksi atau kejadian sudah selesai dan menekankan pada hasilnya.

Rumus:

Positive (+) : S + have/has + V3 + O

Negative (-) : S + haven't/hasn't + V3 + O

Interrogative (?) : Have/Has + S + V3 + O + ?

Contoh:

1. (+) I have gone to school.

  (-) I haven't gone to school.

  (?) Have I gone to school?

2. (+) He has played football in the backyard.

   (-) He hasn't played football in the backyard.

   (?) Has he played football in the backyard?
