A thermometer is an instrument used to measure temperature.The first thermometers were made about 400 years ago and today.
There are several different kinds. One type of thermometer is the
alcohol thermometer. Alcohol thermometer has a glass tube with bulb
at the bottom. Inside the tube is coloured alcohol that expands when
temperature rises and contracts when the temperature falls. Some
thermometers are made with mercury. Mercury also expands and
contracts depending on the temperature. Temperature is measured in
degrees. The two most used scales to measure temperature are Celsius
and Fahrenheit. In Indonesia, the Celsius scale is used.
